WHO Warns India of Lack of Vitamin C After Lemon Price Soars

With the arrival of the summer season, the prices of lemons have skyrocketed over the past week and a single lemon is being sold at Rs 10 in various cities. WHO expressed its concerns over the rising price of lemon saying that Vitamin C is very important to boost immunity against Covid and high price of Lemon in India could have bad effect on its fight against Covid.
During a briefing on Wednesday, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus asked Modi government to ensure there’s no lack of Vitamin C in Indians and make policy to reduce the cost of Lemon. “Covid is far from over and its new variant which are being developed by China might trouble Indians especially when Lemon is not affordable” said the WHO Chief Tedros.
Sources suggest that a man has died due to lack of Vitamin C as claimed by the family, and family has blamed Modi govt for rising price of Lemon, Details on this is awaited.
