2019 seems a very good year for movies as Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ received a huge opening at the box office. The movie collected more than 8 crore votes on day one and the weekend collections at the box office are projected to cross 15 crore.
The film is based on the surgical strikes conducted in 2016 by the Indian Army, against militant launch pads in Pakistan.
Surgical Strike, a befitting reply to Pakistan, gave Indians a big reason to take pride in the bravado of their Armed Forces, while at the same time it disturbed the sentiments of many who hold a soft corner for terrorists. More than 50 terrorists were reportedly killed by India in the covert operation.
Like Pakistan denied the incident, opposition leaders are denying the success of the movie. However, experts believe that these numbers are very good and may help the incumbent Modi government in upcoming elections.
