Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has recovered at least 2 Kgs of detergent from the house of a man related to BJP and Sanatan Sanstha in the Malda district of West Bengal. While searching the bathroom in the BJP worker’s house, ATS officers stumbled upon a suspicious white box, on top of which they found a questionable bag of a blue-white powdery substance. Samples were immediately dispatched for forensic analysis and lab tests confirmed all preliminary theories. As suspected, the powder turned out to be a detergent.

“After recovering bulk quantities of detergent, we raided his entire house but could not find a single piece of dirty cloth. The amount of detergent seized from his house directly hints that he had an unfinished job in hand and it was definitely not dirty laundry,” said an on-duty officer.

According to sources, the raw material found at the residence of BJP worker includes a large quantity of high-quality detergent powder, packed with enough potential to make a dozen bombs.

Sources say that ATS team had been keeping a vigil on the BJP worker for a few days and raided his house only after confirmation from local police on Sunday night. The accused is currently absconding and the search operation is still on.
