Opposition leaders opposing Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Lok Sabha likely to be convicted for Contempt of Court and disqualified from Parliament

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been disqualified as a member of the Lok Sabha from the date of his conviction by a Surat court in the criminal defamation case on March 23 over his Modi surname remark. Opposition leaders called it undeclared emergency and targeted BJP government.

The court called opposition leaders’ statement a blatant contempt of court and said that further contempt of court can lead to conviction of these opposition leaders will also be disqualified from parliament houses.

Speaking to The Fauxy, a judge said “Judiciary is a strong pillar of democracy and Congress is trying to remove the pillar, but they must know that when the pillar falls, the earth shakes“.

Speaking to The Fauxy, outside Lok Sabha Congress President Kharge said “Hum bolein to bolein kya hum karein to karein kya“.
