Noble Prize Winners for 2022 were announced from 3rd October 2022 to 10th October. Nobel Prize is known as the most prestigious award and is given in five categories including Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, and Peace. However, the categories are likely to get increased as the Nobel Committee has decided to include one more category too, which is Mathematics.
Speaking to The Fauxy, one of the Nobel Committee members said “Neither physics nor chemistry can be read or understood without mathematics, and hence the committee has unanimously decided to add Maths as one more category. The Nobel Prize for maths will be announced later this month and so far more than 100 nominations have been made, However, India the land of Aryabhatta and Ramanujan is topping the nomination list with four out of five favourites.
