New Zealand’s prime minister announced that Covid and its variants which have taken many lives so far, will be banned from the country.
“Today I am announcing that New Zealand will ban all Covid variants. We will also ban all asymptomatic Covid.” Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Thursday local time. Ardern said she expects the new laws against Covid to be passed by the end of a “two-week sitting session” that concludes before the end of this month.
New Zealanders (Kiwis) hit the streets to celebrate the news of Covid ban and thousands of people were seen throwing their mask up, a symbolic act to end a chapter of the pandemic.
Once the law is passed, people of New Zealand will not be allowed to contract the corona virus or any of its variant.
“After being declared Covid free for five times, this time New Zealand has decided not to trust the virus anymore and punish it for breaking the trust of New Zealand people. Hence, we ban the Covid with immediate effect” said the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern addressing a press conference.
