Petrol and diesel prices continued their upward momentum across the country and inched to fresh new highs on Monday, February 15, 2021. In many states, the price of petrol crossed 100.
Following today’s hike, petrol in India has beaten the cost of neighbouring countries, make India ahead of them. Soon after the news, Indians were seen on the streets celebrating the India’s victory.
Speaking to The Fauxy, an environmentalist said “More fuel price means less people being able to afford it, this is a subtle but a good move to discourage people to use cars and bikes.”
“Higher fuel price means higher tax collection by the government which can then be used for many other govt projects like highways, roads etc,” said a confused govt worker.
