Early today morning, the lone Sena minister in the Union Cabinet, Arvind Sawant, resigned. Sawant’s resignation is being seen as a precursor to the Shiv Sena securing support of Sharad Pawar-led NCP and the Indian National Congress.
But it is not easy as it sounds, as the parties have still not presented full majority to the Governor. The Dabbawala association of Mumbai though have different plans and are willing to form the government if Sena fails to form it today.
Dabbawalas are the lifeline of Mumbai and people would be willing to support them. Shiv Sena seemed worried by this announcement and has sent a delegation to talk to them and delay their plans.
Meanwhile, Congress has once again brought up the issue of economic slowdown by alleging that if the economy was performing well, BJP would have horse traded and formed the government.
Devendra Fadnavis, as a last resort to form the government has promised the dabbawalas that he would always order tiffin box from them and will ask all his MLAs also to do the same if they help him form the government.
