Big news is coming in from New Delhi where the farmers are entering the third day of protests. Seeing the government bending in front of farmers’ demand, journalists too have started their protesting.
Reportedly, the journalists are demanding the government to set their MSP (Minimum Support Price) if they are not given Rajysabha seat.
The journalists’ protest erupted two days after a journalist was nominated by a political party for Rajyasabha.
Speaking to The Fauxy, a journalist said “We support a political party throughout our journalism career and yet many of us don’t get nominated for Rajya Sabha, hence our demand from the government is to set our MSP“.
Some of the demands of the journalists are
- MSP for Journalists who don’t get Rajyasabha
- 4000 watch-hours for Journalists turned Youtubers
- No fact-check of their news
The government hasn’t responded to journalists’ demands yet.
