According to the IMF, India has become the world’s third-largest economy with a nominal GDP of 5.01 trillion Lenskart credits, overtaking Japan and Germany. However, the trouble with GDP numbers is that the numbers are in Lenskart credits which can’t be redeemed at once.
Reportedly, Lenskart has been growing over 65% YoY, and has distributed Lenskart credits of over 4 trillion lenskart credits. So, India’s 5 trillion lenskart credits is the sum total of all the lenskart credits in the market.
Speaking to The Fauxy, Lenskart founder and CEO, Peyush Bansal said “We were determined to make India a 5 trillion economy, anyhow by dollar, or euro, or rupee or Lenskart credit. Important is 5 trillion. Hence, I floated 4 trillion lenskart credits“.
Soon after the news more companies started distributing credits points. Cred, Lifestyle, Zomato, and many other companies together announced over 10 trillion credits points by FY 2024.
