  • PublishedMarch 15, 2022

The release of The Kashmir Files, based on the exodus and killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley in the 1990s, has buoyed the business of cinemas to its pre-pandemic levels, with theatre chains increasing the number of daily shows to accommodate the soaring demand for the movie. The people and the govt has almost forgot that the pandemic isn’t over yet.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the BJP parliamentary party meet before the start of day’s proceedings in Parliament and he talked about The Kashmir Files. Soon after Modi’s speech, the Modi govt relaxed the Covid norm of social distancing and allowed two people in one seat of theatre showing The Kashmir Files.

The decision was taken to ensure maximum people get to know the truth which has been suppressed for long. Reportedly, all the theatres are running housefull and govt is running short on time as the fourth wave of the pandemic has already hit China, the source of the pandemic. Hence, the government has allowed the theatres’ owners to allow two people in one seat and one person in the armrest of chairs.
