While the urban population is desperate to get a jab to protect themselves against Covid-19, people living in rural areas are still hesitant to come forward for it.
In order to alleviate vaccine hesitancy in rural areas, the government has proposed an unique initiative to make more people interested in taking the jab. Reportedly, the government has asked Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech to add “Addictive” on the vaccine vials.
Speaking to The Fauxy, a villager questioned the ingredients of the vaccine and said he will not take the jab until he’s told all the ingredients. “How can I take something I don’t know what’s there in it” said the villager while mixing Vimal Pan Masala with another tobacco packet.
Government anticipates that after adding “Addictive” on the vials many people who are currently hesitant would come forward to take the jab, however, controlling people not to take multiple jabs is another challenge that govt might face.
