Government Defends itself in Court, Says All the JCBs used were Halal Certified

Court on Wednesday took a Suo Moto cognisance of the Ram Navami Khargone case where stones were pelted on Hindu Procession while it advanced through Muslim area. The court gave ordered against the demolition of the houses of the stone pelters saying stone pelting is an essential religious practice of Islam, the government too defended itself.

Defending the government in Court, the advocate general said “Mi lord, throughout the process of demolition of the houses of the stone pelters secularism has been kept in mind and all the JCBs used to demolish the houses were Halal Certified.”

Advocate General went overboard while defending the government and said “Even some JCBs and Bulldozers didn’t have fitness certificate but we used them because they had Halal certificates. And Halal is a safety standard. Period.”

Reversing its order, Court asked the government to demolish houses only using Halal certified JCBs and Bulldozers and restore the houses who were demolished with non-halal certified JCBs.
