At a time when the world marches on towards the acceptance of LGBTQ+ identities, many children in India are leading by examples. In a recent case from Delhi, a girl named Manisha has filed an affidavit to change her name to have a more gender-neutral name.
Upset with Man in her name, Manisha has decided to replace Man with people in her name Manisha. Her new name will be called Peopleisha. Her friend Aman is also inspired and now will be called Apeople.
“We are receiving over a hundred affidavits daily and out of these over 95% are choosing gender neutral names,” said Mandeep, now Peopledeep, head of the Affidavit department Delhi.
