Netflix Inc has suspended its service in Russia, a company spokesperson said on Sunday. Earlier this week, Pornhub temporarily stopped all future projects and acquisitions in Russia as it assessed the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. However, a big relief came for Russia from India. Reportedly, after the ban of Pornhub and Netflix, Ekta Kapoor, an Indian television producer and director has announced to launch her OTT, Alt Balaji in Russia.
“Alt Balaji will compensate for both the Pornhub and the Netflix. However, one can’t chill while watching it. Haha” said Ekta Kapoor during the launch of the OTT in Russia.
Speaking to The Fauxy, the Alt Balaji Spokesperson said “Russia will find the content relevant and relatable, although we are launching the platform for the first time in Russia but we have significant experience working with Russians… I mean Russian actors“.
Multiple News sources suggest that Alt Balaji is making a sequel of Squid Games which is based on recent Russia Ukraine Conflict and will be streamed only on Alt Balaji App. Alt Balaji has over a lakh subscribers from Russia and is likely to hit one million after the App launch.
