The leading coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) took a huge decision on Thursday which involves keeping a full-time Pandit, who can perform marriage rituals, as a receptionist. The decision was taken after analysing the customer data for over five years.
“After analysing the customer data, we realised that a majority of our customers visit our outlets to discuss their marriage prospects and further analysis suggests that most of them got married too. Considering customer convenience as our top priority, we wish to help these couples with end-to-end marriage solution. For instance, the Pandit-cum-receptionist can help you with Kundali matching, explain the doshas if any, set muhurat, and if everything goes perfectly, he can even perform the marriage pooja in your wedding. Initially, we thought of keeping one Pandit exclusively for this, but to cut costs, we have decided to keep him as Pandit-cum-receptionist”, said CCD CEO T. Cocoa.
A couple, Mr and Mrs Sharma welcomed the decision and expressed how if had this facility existed during their time too, they would have saved money on the Pandit which they had to hire separately. The management is also considering to hire a psychologist or Pandit who also has added skills of psychology so as to check the behavioural compatibility of the couples coming to their outlet. The decision is getting pondered over and final announcement will be made next week reports The Fauxy’s reporter Mohan.
