Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham in the leading roles, Pathaan was released in the theatres on January 25 and mysteriously the movie earned more than Rs 1000 crore at the global box office. After close to two months, Pathaan finally had an OTT release only to get boycotted again.
However, this time the boycott call came from the Bollywood itself. A scene of Pathaan where SRK runslike KRK and throws his phone (not even Nokia) on a missile cruising at around 6,000 kilometers per hour, became the main reason of its Boycott. “It’s the most stupid and idiotics movie I have ever seen, and I have seen KRK’s ‘Deshdrohi’ and Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s ‘Hind ka Napak ko Jawab’ What was it?” said a SRK fan.
Film critics called Pathaan OTT release a bad idea of exposing itself. After Pathaan OTT release, Income Tax department has given show cause notices to the director and producer of the family about movie box office collection.
“Even if you pay me I can’t watch the movie beyond fifteen minutes and if you put a gun on my head I can watch for 16 mins max” said an anonymous Film Critic
