In a four-day event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched 5G services at the 6th Edition of India Mobile Congress 2022. The wait for 5G in India is finally over and users will be able to enjoy 5G services by Diwali. Several top companies like Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Qualcomm demonstrated their 5G services as well as their benefits of it to PM Narendra Modi.
However, three days later, an Airtel employee has been caught red-handed painting red colour on 4 of 4G to make it 5. While this is allowed in posters, banners and flyers, another Airtel employee was caught editing 4 of 4G to 5 on his desktop. Reportedly, the employee was making changes in the code and was replacing 4 everywhere with 5.
Confessing to The Fauxy, on the condition of staying anonymous, Rahul Singh, the team lead said “This is how we moved from 3G to 4G, we were just waiting for the announcement to replace 4 of 4G with 5. Airtel customer won’t realise neither they did when we edited 3 of 3G with 4.”
The changes made will take some time to reflect as the Airtel network didn’t have enough speed.
