Amidst the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis, some of the Indian nationals who were being evacuated were worried about their pet dogs and cats. On March 2, the Indian government issued a special advisory allowing the Indian nationals to bring along their pets from Ukraine.
It was a sigh of relief for many pets and some Pakistani students too for whom Pakistan Govt didn’t arrange any flight. Reportedly, a Pakistani student tried to take benefit of the advisory and disguised as dog. He got the initial success as an India student decided to bring him to India.
However, the success didn’t last long as the man was caught at the Poland airport scanner and was asked to show his passport. Passport revealed that the student was from Pakistan. The student was later released and allowed to board the flight on humanitarian ground.
Speaking to The Fauxy, student said “I am disappointed to know that outside Pakistan, a dog has more value than a Pakistani, and a dog costume has more importance than Pakistan’s passport”.
