The income tax department said on Thursday that it found discrepancy and manipulation of over ₹650 Crores during the searches at various places linked to actor Tapsee Pannu, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and his partners who launched the now shuttered production house Phantom Films. Reportedly, the Bollywood fraternity has come together in support of Anurag Kashyap and Tapsee and is demanding repeal of tax laws.
“Once there are no tax laws then tax evasion wouldn’t be a crime anymore. And there won’t be need of any IT department which respective govts use as a tool for their political vendetta” said one of the Bollywood leading directors on the condition of anonymity.
“Democracy is dead in India, a person who earns can’t even decide how he wants to spend it. Is the country still under the British rule that we have to pay taxes on our earning?” questioned a leading actress
Sources confirmed that Bollywood fraternity has decided to block Arey Road and Andheri Flyover to register their protest against the tax laws.
