Social media influencers on various platforms like Instagram, Twitter and Youtube are individuals with an established line of credibility who are best known to possess the power to persuade people. However, things are not exactly how they appear to us and behind each story, there’s always more to it than meets the eye. One recent example that further establishes this notion is a bizarre case from Maharashtra where a popular social media influencer, ironically enough, had a tough time trying to convince her husband to follow her on Instagram.
Ankita, a Mumbai based social media influencer, boasts of about 30,000 odd followers on Instagram, a popular photo and video-sharing social networking service and has a strong influence on people who love to read and write about fashion and lifestyle.
However, there’s someone who is not even a bit influenced by Ankita and he’s none other than Ankita’s husband Prakash. Prakash wasn’t much impressed with his wife’s work and refused to follow her on Instagram even after several persuasions and futile attempts on her part.
“Social media bloggers are people who imagine themselves to be better than literally everybody else just because they have huge number of followers. In reality, they do not even have the slightest influence on their own lives, let alone anyone else’s,” revealed a former Facebook employee.
This is not the first time that Ankita lost face in public. Around last year when she had only 20,000 followers, she couldn’t even land a single social media marketing stint and was therefore forced to purchase followers.
