Amid the rise in fuel prices, when petrol prices in some parts of the country crossing the Rs 100-mark, while diesel touching Rs 90-mark, experts have speculated the price rise of essential commodities including the most essential one that is milk.
“There have been reports speculating higher prices of essential commodities in coming times. I would like to add that these slightly higher prices will be only to discourage people from over eating” said a govt officers on the condition of anonymity.
Recent study suggests that obesity is one of the fastest growing diseases in India and as India is moving towards a five-trillion economy the trend will go even worse and by the end of this year over ten million people will have obesity. “It’s a new pandemic- obesity. If the govt doesn’t increase prices we will keep eating more” said a person outside a restaurant.
