The White Tiger, the film written and directed by the Iranian American Ramin Bahrani, which is based on the Booker Prize-winning 2008 novel by Aravind Adiga is getting appreciated by many, however, there’s an activist who believes that the title is very racist and needs to be renamed.
The activist filed an PIL in Supreme Court against the name of the show claiming the title to be racist. Supreme Court heard the case in priority and ordered the makers to rename it to The Black Tiger. The Supreme Court’s verdict was challenged by another activist who claimed that the name The Black Tiger is racist for white people after which the supreme court of India in its landmark judgement ordered the makers to rename the show to Zebra, saying Zebras equally represent black and white.
