Earlier today many opposition leaders and their journalists claimed that the portrait of Subhas Chandra Bose, unveiled at the Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Ram Nath Kovind, was not of the freedom fighter but of actor Prosenjit Chatterjee. The Centre refuted the claims and called the debate ‘fake’. However, the opposition supporters were already charged up and were in no mood to spare anyone. Reportedly, a few supporters went overboard and reached Madame Tussaud’s to check the veracity of all the statues there. Upon seeing the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, liberals couldn’t control their anger and vandalised the statue.
“Mahatma Gandhi died long ago, this Mahatma Gandhi was fake, I tried to speak to him but he didn’t respond, I gave him charkha to spin but he didn’t even move. I realised it’s a fake Gandhi. Hence, we demolished it. Modi is fascist” Sai one of the liberals who vandalised the statue.
