Due to COVID19 whole world is witnessing economic slowdown and a majority of industries are forced to lay off employees. Even the industries like Bollywood and Sports, which are least impacted during economic slowdown, are also witnessing a major downfall.
On Monday, Pakistan Cricket Board announced that all the players will get salary reduced to 20% which means 80% pay cut as bookies had no business for over two months and hence have no money to pay to PCB.
Speaking to The Fauxy, the former cricketer Waqar Younis said “This is not much of a worry as players have now their salary in proportion to their performance, and boys will play well”.
However, PCB on the other hand is worries that due to pay cut, cricketers will idolise Umar Akmal and will try to compensate the losses by dropping catches on field.
