New Delhi: A rather unbelievably shocking news came to the fore when an orthopaedic surgeon from Delhi was caught using the same exact X-ray pictures for all her patients. The incident took place in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj, where the doctor’s clinic in question is currently sealed on grounds of medical malpractice.
“Around 100 people break their bones each day. It’s confusing for me plus let’s face it patients are dumb! One of my regulars once asked me to point out his funny bone and I got away by pointing at his skull. You want me to do all the extra X-Ray differentiation effort for these bunch of losers who aren’t even capable of walking on the face of the earth while keeping their bones intact?” said Ritika, who nearly-passed out her MBBS 5 years ago.
The sudden shut-down of the clinic by police has angered a lot of locals and has left several jobless.
“I don’t understand this hypocritical stance of the government, the police and the society in general! On one hand, you say you want greener earth, less paper, recyclability etc and on the other hand, you go ahead and lock up our clinic! That’s some mixed messaging I must say!” said Ramlal, the peon-cum-nurse at the clinic.
“I remember the time when she pointed out at the X-ray and explained how my femur bone had developed a hairline crack. I had memories attached to that injury. Now she has spoilt them all. I’m gonna sue her as soon as I get back to walking normally!” said an agitated patient.
“You know what? Seeing that X-ray was the most magical part of the 300 days I was in the hospital. Maybe the doctor was protecting me. Maybe I wasn’t prepared yet. You always have to trust the doc!” said Shyamu, an ex-patient and current-fiancé of Ritika who insisted that the doctor helped manifest a bone (err?) in him.
Currently, it is not clear whether Ritika followed the same policy throughout her 5-year-old practice or had just recently adopted the greener way of life. Meanwhile, police discovered 200 suspicious X-Ray pictures stashed under Ritika’s desk. Interrogation underway.
