No Suicide Scene In TVF Kota Factory Sparks Row Among Kota Students

TVF’s new web series Kota Factory has been creating a lot of buzz, but apparently not for all the right reasons. Based on the struggles and life of engineering students in Kota, the show definitely takes one through a nostalgia trip. However, several pointed out a glaring mistake in the series, which reduces the credibility of the show, thus thrusting it into a huge controversy.
Many would agree that preparing for IIT is in itself a punishment, and while the show has covered that aspect beautifully, it fails to capture the real essence of Kota. To much disappointment of the viewers, there were no self-harming or suicidal scenes in TVF’s Kota Factory. This is considered as being very far from the actual realities of pursuing engineering in Kota.
“It is very normal for an IIT aspirant to witness the suicide of a few of his counterparts. On top of it Kota is the suicide capital of India, how could they miss it? Its like going to Kashmir and forgetting to cover snow. Unforgivable!” said Sachin, an engineer from Mumbai who is currently struggling to find a job.
