The newly formed department mirrors Trump’s DOGE initiative, which is headed by businessman Elon Musk. The announcement came just hours after Gautam Adani was charged by U.S. prosecutors for bribing Indian officials to secure more than $2 billion in profits. “Mr. Gautam Adani has mastered the art of navigating Indian bureaucracy and is well-suited to lead DOGE,” said a government official, reportedly after being paid by Adani to make the statement.
