Sri Lanka’s Ranking in World’s Happiness Index Further Improves as Citizens Get to Enjoy Presidential Level Privileges

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka – After months of growing economic deprivation, of fuel and food shortages and increasingly desperate protests, the scenes in Colombo offered rare moments of levity, as demonstrators who literally occupied the seats of executive power took a moment to appreciate the luxuries.

Protesters jumped into the president house pool, they lounged on canopied beds. And, on wide-screen televisions, they watched cricket and news footage of their fellow protesters, who had massed in Sri Lanka’s capital and joined them in storming the presidential residence and secretariat.

While the Srilanka’s economic crisis is a matter of global concern, the global happiness index has called it a positive sign and Srilanka’s ranking in the world happiness index has improved significantly and is now at 4th rank just below Finland, Denmark, Switzerland.

Srilanka’s ranking on happiness index has improved owing to the photos that have surfaced recently. In the photos Srilankan citizens can be seen enjoying the president level privileges.

The world happiness index authority spoke to The Fauxy, and said that they only consider people’s happiness and aren’t bothered by how the happiness is derived, and Srilankans can be seen happy even while protesting.
