Since the Russia has attacked Ukraine, the world’s major economies like the US has imposed several sanctions on Russia. The Unites States has stopped buying oil from Russia. However, of late it’s been discovered that the US is still buying a major chunk of its crude oil need from Russia.
The clamour in some US media and among politicians criticising US for buying oil from Russia despite sanctions, President Joe Biden clarified that the oil that the US is buying from Russia is not being used but are being burnt. “We are burning the oil from Russia to mark a protest against Russia’s aggression against Ukraine” said Joe Biden.
Upon asking how exactly the oil is being burnt, Joe Biden’s manager said they are leaving this to Americans. “A majority of Americans are burning the oil as fuel in their cars and bikes while continuously abusing Russian President Putin” says Katherine Tai, United States Trade Representative.
Speaking to The Fauxy, Kamala Harris said “Russia Attacks US, US buys Oil from Russia, US Burns that Oil. Hahaha”.
