The positives of scrapping section 377 – a section under IPC that criminalised homosexuality – have started showing. As predicted by some economic experts, dropping 377 would help the country’s economy to grow and it’s quite impressive to see that the forecast is already coming true on the very first day itself. The renowned video social networking app musical.ly congratulated the LGBT community yesterday and revealed that shortly after the verdict, more than 1.5 million new users installed the app.

Musical.ly provides a platform to people who wish to try opposite gender antics, hence the increase in app downloads was quite expected. “The verdict will help the nation’s GDP growth, it’s just a beginning and as more and more people will explore their sexuality with this app, more and more innovative startup’s shall come up, thus creating opportunities and employment for many,” said one of the economists who had filed a PIL to scrap section 377. Sources confirmed that he was among the 1.5 Million people who downloaded the Musical.ly app on the judgement day.
