Zomato Yet Again Mixes A Veg Order With Non-Veg Dish; Gets Sued By Delivery Guy

Restaurant finder and food delivery app Zomato has been making the news for all the wrong reasons yet again. As we all know, since a few years Zomato’s brand image has taken a major hit due to its sluggish delivery service, and it was just a few months back when the company managed to trickle itself out of a controversy wherein delivery guys were reported tasting the orders prior to delivery. Now the restaurant and food search service has landed itself into soup again as several reports about the app mixing up the orders of its customers started cropping up in the social media.

One such incident took place with 24-year-old Chandru, which left him stirred beyond repair. Chandru Yaan, a Zomato delivery boy and a staunch Hindu follower, was having a normal day until he spotted a chicken bone in his delivery order. Chandru was on his way to deliver an order of Vegetarian Biryani to Mangal. En-route Chandru stopped for a snack break and decided to dig in. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that his job would be the end of his religious abstinence.

“Humko pata hota toh hum kabhi na khaate. Itna bhookh bhi nai tha. Hum toh bas chakhne gaye the. Humein kya pata tha ki dharam bhrasht hoi jayega!” said a sobbing Chandru.

Chandru Yaan has now decided to sue Zomato for its carelessness and has reported them to the consumer court, claiming Rs. 1 Lakh in damages for hurting his religious sentiments.

The Fauxy reached Mangal for his comments, here’s what he had to say:

“I am a non-vegetarian. I knew if I ordered a veg biryani, Zomato will definitely send me Chicken Biryani. You know that way it saves me a lot of money. Plus if I report them, they apologise and refund my money which is double the order value! It is a win-win for me. I have nothing to complain about!” said Mangal.
