The restaurant search and discovery platform Zomato which also offers online ordering and delivery, landed in controversy after a video featuring its delivery boy went viral. The video shows the delivery boy consuming food that was meant for delivery. Zomato faced severe criticism after the incident and consequently witnessed a drop in its orders.
After around ten days, Zomato has finally issued a statement addressing the issue and proposed a method to ensure a non-repetition of such a case. Zomato in its statement said that now its food packaging will have a “Tasted Ok” stamp.
Zomato statement also says that they’ll pack an extra 20% of the ordered amount so as to ensure that the perfect amount of meal reaches the consumer.
( P.S.- here consumer means the person who has ordered the food and NOT the delivery boy).
