The new Traffic fines have come into existence and yesterday a guy was fined Rs. 23000 for a traffic rule violation. The rules are scary but at the same time necessary in a country like India.
The government also does not have the mechanism to stop Traffic Police from accepting bribes. But Zomato, a food delivery company has come up with a solution. The delivery boys have decided that as and when they will be caught violating a traffic rule, they will give some food from the customer’s order to the traffic police. More the fine more costly food will be given.
This way there will be less give and take of cash and a great service towards the digital economy dream of the government. Zomato has made it clear that it was the decision of the delivery boys and the company does not have anything to do with it. Traffic Police, meanwhile have stopped taking tiffin boxes from home after this announcement.
