Whataboutery Bill Passed In The Parliament

In a historic decision, the Rajya Sabha on Thursday passed the “Whataboutery Bill” with an unprecedented majority. The Bill allows politicians to get away with their responsibilities and crimes by showing evidence of similar incidents that may have taken place under various previous governments.

However, there’s a small catch. A politician who submits a piece of evidence against any former government should not belong to that concerned political party. In order to avoid any conflict of interest, many prominent leaders are expected to switch parties.

The Bill was produced in the Rajya Sabha for the first time, and with all MPs voting unanimously in support for the motion, the Bill got passed even before the speaker could finish reading it out completely.

Currently, the Whataboutery Bill is pending for the President’s assent and is likely to become a law before the upcoming winter sessions of the Parliament. The Bill on becoming a law would allow the current government to take various ill-planned and draconian decisions without any questions asked, since the previous government took those decisions too.
