Utilizing Free Traveling at Its Peak: A Women from Noida Sec-61 Travels to Dwarka to Buy Dhaniya

The Delhi government rolled out a new travel scheme that offers free rides to women in the national capital in over 5,500 state-run buses. Women travelers will be given special pink tickets.

Sonam Gupta, a resident of Sector 61, finds all her basic necessities in and around the colony and never traveled outside her colony. As soon as Sonam came to know about free bus rides by the Kejriwal government, she soon decided to use it for every possible purpose. Sonam uses the benefit of free traveling from one corner to other corner of the Delhi even for small things. She travels from Sector 61 to Dwarka just to buy dhaniya and some vegetables daily while enjoying the free ride.

Sonam said to The Fauxy, “Yes, I travel a long distance to buy Dhaniya because I enjoy traveling and also because the rides are free. One day the vegetable vendor didn’t have a change of ₹2. So, I went home to bring the change and gave it to him on the same day.” She also revealed that her neighbour Shanti travelled 63 km in bus just to buy a needle for sewing machine. Women of Delhi thank Kejriwal for this ultimate initiative.
