HUL had recently dropped the word “fair” from its skin cream, replacing it with “Glow” — Glow & Lovely for women and Glow & Handsome for men. Many people from the other sectors are also doing their bit in fighting racism.
The fauxy has learnt that the taxi drivers and auto drivers association has decided to remove “fare” from their meter and will also not use the term as it sounds pretty similar to “Fair” and hence becomes racist while pronouncing it. The sales of Glow and Lovely has increased after the rebranding.
The rebranding meeting lasted for about 5 hours where the marketing team gave presentation after presentation to show how glow is different from fair. In fact one taxi driver registered a complaint against a customer who asked him ‘What is the fare?’ for Andheri. Such incidents are increasing day by day and the police has lots of racism complaints to deal with.
