On Monday, the leading coffee chain Starbucks made a new rule for its Indian branches to save itself and its customers from undesired distress. Starbucks has now made it mandatory for its customers to own at least one Apple product while entering a Starbucks outlet.
The decision was taken after several franchise owners across India complained about how maximum customers at the counter go clueless after seeing the rate card of coffees and beverages. While many customers end up ordering the smallest size of the basic coffee with no add-ons, many leave the outlet pretending that they received an urgent call.
“If someone has an apple product, like iPhone, iPod or MacBook etc that means they are rich and stupid enough to buy an overpriced cup of Starbucks coffee and that’s our target customer base. This is why we have come with this solution!” said Navin Gurnaney (CEO)
