Railway agents are of great help when it comes to booking railway tickets at a short notice. But Delhi Police have busted a racket which involved railway agents cancelling tickets of their customers’ wives.
Every person who did not want his wife to return back soon used this service and the premium charged was a heavy one, even more than premium tatkal. After many ladies complained that every time they boarded a long distance train to return to their husband’s place, it showed that their ticket was cancelled. Upon thorough investigation, the police found that the agents used to do it for customers.
It was also found that some policemen were also the customers and that is the reason it took the police so much tie in busting the racket. It is to be seen whether such rackets are operational in other parts of the country or not.
