A consumer court here slapped a ₹55,000 fine on food delivery platform Zomato along with a hotel for delivering non-vegetarian food to a lawyer who had ordered a vegetarian dish. The story went viral on the internet and some people in fact used Zomato’s fault in the delivery system to reap more benefits.
Engineering students are always on the lookout for saving money on food. And that is why a student in Mumbai ordered Veg food as it was cheaper than non-veg and expected Zomato to deliver the non-veg stuff. But by mistake Zomato delivered the correct order this time.
Yes, it delivered veg food on the order of veg food. That’s really surprising and Shwetank Srivastava, the customer here has sued the food delivery company for failing in meeting his demands.
Shwetank has a strong case here. Many like him think that if you want non-veg food, simply order veg food on Zomato and Zomato will take care of the order but Zomato failed to do so in Shwetank’s case. Shwetank’s lawyer now wants the company to compensate his client and it will be interesting to see if Zomato has to pay a fine which it has a habit of paying nowadays.
