Person Files An Affidavit To Be Identified As Was/Were After His Death

Mumbai: An affidavit filed in Colaba by a person says that after the person dies he should be referred as Was/Were. This is done to keep the spirit of the pronouns group high. The person cited Article 21 of Indian Constitution that talks about the right to dignity and fair treatment even to one’s mortal remains after his demise.

Currently, the person is confused about how to get identified and is finding out the most profitable pronoun for themselves and is called gender fluid. Person’s affidavit has been accepted but the final call on the same will be taken after a court hearing on the pronoun case.

If we have the right to be identified with whatever pronouns while we are alive we have the right to choose pronouns to be used for our mortal remains.” told the person to The Fauxy. Soon after the affidavit got the limelight many more people started filing affidavits to get their choice of pronouns after their death. Reportedly, over ten thousand affidavits were filed within an hour of the news breaking. One person wants to be identified as neither/none while most opted for was/were.
