At least four cases of the Omicron sub-variant BF.7, the Covid strain driving China’s current surge of cases, have been detected in India so far. The government has said that there’s “No need to panic”. The govt has also asked states to send samples for genome sequencing, which can help identify the variant causing Covid.
However, some leftists believe that the Covid wave surging after almost a year is an attempt to promote the Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming movie The Vaccine War. “Covid cases will increase globally but not in India, only to prove that India’s vaccines Covishield and Covaxin are the best.
