High Expectations From Pakistan, Might Clear Security Check At First Attempt Says ICC

Shashank Manohar while talking to journalists yesterday has made a rather positive but controversial statement regarding Pakistan’s cricket team. While speaking about Pakistan’s participation in World Cup, Manohar said how he has pinned high hopes in Pakistan’s cricket team this time.
“The expectations are high with Pakistan this time. I’m more than sure that the Pakistan cricket team can easily clear the security check in one attempt. The Pakistan army has assured me of the same,” said Shashank Manohar.
Despite being a positive announcement, his statements were not received well by the Pakistan government or the army. Pakistan who is renowned across the world for terrorist attacks and fixing cricket matches feels that the statement from ICC chairman was nothing but an attempt to undermine the traditions of Pakistan.
“You betcha we are going to clear the security check at one go! We are going to clear it off for once and for all!” said a Pakistani Army official.
Currently, we are not sure what to make of the passive-aggressive statement by the Pakistan Army, but given their past, it seems like a threat.
Back in Pakistan, the ICC Chairman’s statement received a mixed response. While some were seen calling it a sacrifice as great as the Ramzan fasting others were are criticising the Pakistan cricket team for forsaking their traditions to participate in a foolish tournament.
