On Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh government finally approved the rechristening of Allahabad to Prayagraj, just in time for the Kumbh Mela. While the decision invited a lot of heated debate and acute criticism, the entire castigation faded by the next morning as people who slept in Allahabad woke up to Prayagraj, which was a thousand times better than Allahabad.
The residents of Allahabad were shell-shocked to find out that not only the city was glimmering with cleanliness, but also several flyovers, roads, streetlights, magically appeared overnight following the city’s was retitling to Prayagraj. The magical occurrence was a befitting reply to people who were questioning the significance of the move.
Scientists believe that all of these developments are a mere illusion and that the government is deceiving people through some trickery, possibly using giant-sized projectors and screens. However, the Yogi government believes otherwise and hailed it as the power of Vedic Sciences.
If sources are to be believed the government is now considering renaming many famous cities like Aligarh to Ramgarh, Muzzafarnagar to Shri Krishna Nagar and so on. Another suggestion is to rename the Babri Mosque in Ayodhya to Ram Mandir in order to resolve a decades-old dispute.
