In the recently held Rajasthan assembly elections, Congress who got a clear majority is all set to form the government. However, choosing a CM between former CM Ashok Gehlot and Yuva leader Sachin Pilot is becoming very difficult for the Gandhi family. Ashok Gehlot is emerging as the majority choice as per sources.
Although the Gandhi family has not yet made any announcements, Sachin Pilot has asked his fans and supporters to remain calm and trust their decision. Sachin’s appeal sounds very much like the one Gurmeet Ram Rahim made to his supporters just hours before the court announced its verdict. Taking this subtle hint, his supporters had taken a violent turn after the unfavourable decision against him.
Sachin Pilot’s supporters have blocked the roads and are burning tyres, thus effectively creating trouble for people. Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot have a different support base and while one has Jats the other one has Gujars on his side. Factoring anyone of them out would mean disappointing the other. Sources say that Congress may ask Vasundhara Raje to continue as CM of Rajasthan until they resolve their internal issue amicably.
