After Cancellation Of Exams, 12th Board Students Want Their Pronouns Be Mentioned In Their Marksheets

The Centre’s decision to cancel the CBSE Class 12 board exams this year due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic was welcomed by a majority of students. However, the students have come with a new demand. Reportedly, Class 12 students have asked CBSE to mention their pronouns in their marksheets.

The demand drew massive support online owing to it being raised in the month of June which is referred as pride month. Although the government hasn’t responded to the demand yet, it is likely to be met since 12 board students are going to be voters by the 2024 General elections.

Speaking to The Fauxy, Sherya (She/Her) said “my mark-sheet is also my identity, if I want to be referred to as gender neutral it’s my right to be so. They can give marks however they want but must add pronouns, because marks don’t define what one is, pronouns do.”
